A Permanent Legacy
THE ARTHUR SZYK COLLECTION IS A PRICELESS INTERNATIONAL TREASURE OF ART AND HISTORY.
The greatest repository of a single activist-artist to surface since World War II, The Collection illuminates the defining events of the first half of the 20th century. Although Jewish history and democratic values influence his artistic vision, Arthur Szyk’s (1894-1951) nonsectarian advocacy for freedom and social justice—most clearly evident in his propaganda against Hitler and the Axis—places his art within our common global heritage.
Assembled by scholar Irvin Ungar over two decades, The Collection is worthy of placement in an institution where this body of work will be displayed and made accessible for research and public appreciation, as a permanent legacy for future generations.
