This medallion shows the emblem of the British American Ambulance Corps, a cruciform medal in magenta and gold, with the title encircling a graphic combination of the British and American flags utilizing red, white and blue.

Arthur Szyk held two exhibitions to benefit the British American Ambulance Corps during the War, one at the Knoedler Art Galleries, New York, May 22 to June 7, 1941; the other at the Whyte Gallery, Washington, D.C., January 6 to January 31, 1942. Szyk also designed stamps for the British American Ambulance Corps (a photograph of which in The Szyk Archives shows him presenting a sheet to Eleanor Roosevelt).
