This drawing by Arthur Szyk shows two figures in military uniforms: Paul von Hindenburg, field marshal of the German army during World War I, and Erich Ludendorff, Hindenburg’s chief of staff. Szyk has drawn Hindenburg on the left of the picture, raising his right hand in greeting and holding a saber with his left hand. Behind Hindenburg, on the right of the picture, is Ludendorff, also holding a saber.
